EUROPACE
Summary (English):
The project aims to create a scalable financing mechanism, inspired by the successful US PACE scheme, to promote the adoption of energy-saving and generation technologies in European households. EuroPACE will tackle key challenges in energy efficiency investment by (1) Introducing a Market-Based Approach: Private capital will provide upfront financing to homeowners, reducing dependence on grants and subsidies; (2) Mitigating Investment Risks: Long-term repayment obligations will be linked to properties rather than owners, with municipalities collecting repayments via a special levy added to property tax bills.
